When I was 12 years old I saw a movie in which two young girls were talking, and one was telling the other that when she got married, she was going to have many children. I thought: “Who is going to marry this ugly woman” (remember that I was 12 years old).

But, as an adult, I have had several situations arise, at university, at work, in my neighborhood, in which I have met girls who at first did not attract my attention, or even seemed ugly to me, but then after seeing them very often, or every day, my appreciation has changed to the point that I already saw some of them as pretty. Of course this hasn’t happened with all girls. I suppose that the same thing has also happened to the reader, even if it is on very rare occasions.

Another factor that makes a girl who previously didn’t even catch your attention look pretty is that she shows interest in you. Suddenly, from the group of girls you meet at a certain time, the girl who shows interest in you stands out and you start to think about her more often and, slowly, you start to like her and in some cases, you even fall in love with her; it happened to me.

And among celebrity couples, there are many cases in which one of them is considered physically attractive and the other is not. But, luckily for all of us, our physique is also something subjective and it is very good that it is like that, otherwise, the number of lonely people would be much greater.

I have titled this article “Almost all of them got married”, in the past tense because today marriage as an institution is on the decline and does not stop falling. In 1949, the percentage of married couples in all US households was 79%; by 2022, 73 years later, the percentage is only 47% and the trend continues.
